We started in Miniature and Standard Poodles in 1978 with our first Mini who came from the RSPCA, and was a very much loved pet and started the interest in poodles our first standard ,a beautiful black bitch "Sociere Alp Luachra" was purchased frm Sybil Rosier in1979 our mini and standard prefix
"luachra"( under which we have bred and shown many beautiful champion dogs for 25 yrs) was derived from her name the "luachra" prefix was handed over to louise smith a move which Mark thought would ensure his prefix would continue but it seems of late that is not the case
Our first toy "Kate" Silcara One step Ahead (Imp NZ) came along in 1984 and lived to grand old age of 18. "Kate" she was owned in partnership with Mark Chapman & Tony Hosford (hence the joining of the two surnames became our prefix) After Kate came "Kaos" Tryout Total Kaos ( bred by lyn murray in melbourne ) who is the mother of "Chapford lovem n leavem"(spencer) from these dogs came a long line of very successful champion toy poodles including "chapford studs lonigan" ;"chapford in good faith" & more recently our beautiful "chapford hey u in th white" and "chapford rocks in a frock" the tradition is being carried on by our new crop of champs and soon to be champs
"chapford rocks the world "; "chapford shake a tail feather" (owned by pam brown and jenny coates in brisbane);" chapford meant to be" and our new little boy "chapford thunderstruck" being campaigned very sucessfully by Lyn Murray (a longtime friend & mentor of Mark's )our toys are very much loved and we will continue the tradition started by Mark of breeding quality & high standard in our toys
Following Marks untimely passing from cancer in june 2009 I (David Chapman-Parrott)took over the prefix, which I had been partners with him in for 15 yrs, in an agreement worked out by Mark and myself 3 mths before he passed away I am being assisted in our breeding program by lyn murray (marks mentor when he first started in poodles) and julie aspinall who live in Melbourne, the prefix will eventually be passed into their capable hands when I am unable to keep going with it .
